Medicaid Division

Processes applications for a variety of public health insurance programs, including Medicaid for certified disabled individuals, individuals ages 65 or older, prenatal care services (presumptive eligibility), Medicaid buy-in for Working People with Disabilities, and the Medicare Savings Program. Screens individuals to determine if they need to apply for Medicaid through the NYS Health Benefit Exchange.

Eligibility: Eligibility based on income and resource standards governing Public Health Insurance Programs

Application Process: Individuals who should apply through the New York State Marketplace: - Adults (not pregnant) ages 19 to 64 years who are not eligible for Medicare - Pregnant women and infants - Children ages 1 to 18 years - Parents and caretaker relatives Individuals who should apply through the Department of Social Services: - Individuals ages 65 years and older, who are not parents or caretaker relatives, when age is a condition of eligibility - Individuals whose eligibility is based on being blind or disabled or who request coverage for community based long term care services (CBLTC) - Medicare Savings Program (MSP) - Medicaid buy-in for Working People with Disabilities enrollees (MBI-WPD) - Residential treatment center/community residences operated by the Office of Mental Health (OMH)
